Here at Lakes Pest Control, we consider safety our highest priority. We carefully select pest control products and methods that are designed to produce effective results with little or no impact on people, pets, plants or the environment in general. Although no pesticide can be termed "absolutely safe", our goal is to significantly reduce or eliminate pesticide exposure through the use of knowledgeable and responsible strategies.

CONTINUING EDUCATION
|
|
At Lakes Pest Control we focus on continuing education. We subscribe to the leading industry publications, and encourage our associates to read them. Each technician is required to particapate annually in the continuing education seminars held at the ISU Extension Offices statewide. The continuing education seminars focus on the latest control methods, application techniques and technologies that include safeguards to the environment by minimizing the use of pesticides. Our service technicians have been trained to practice "IPM" (Integrated Pest Management) strategies whenever possible. This means that we will make recommendations, explore other alternatives, and make use of every available non-pesticide control method first, instead of simply "spraying" to solve your pest problems. This may involve the implementation of one or more of the following "IPM" tools:
• Mechanical Controls
• Inspections
• Monitoring
• Structural Exclusion
• Sanitation
• Baits
• Traps
Making use of these alternatives individually, or in conjunction with the use of EPA approved pesticides, ensures quality workmanship, and the very best treatment results possible. This validates our commitment to stay informed on all the latest industry procedural and safety advances as they are developed within our industry.
